20th ANNIVERSARY DIGIMON ADVENTURE FILM REVEALS NEW VISUAL AND TEASER TRAILER
On the heels of the 20th anniversary of Digimon Adventure, Toei Animation has revealed both a special new teaser visual, featuring Agumon & Tai and first teaser trailer for the new Digimon Adventure film project that serves to commemorate the milestone anniversary of the franchise since its official debut in March of 1999.
The new film will find the original DigiDestined children return as young adults in their early 20s, following the events of the six-film saga, Digimon Adventure tri. Also coming back for this film is the talented original cast of Digimon Adventure tri. Main plot details are still kept under wraps; but according to producer Yosuke Kinoshita, the aim is to make the movie meaningful for fans who have been there since the beginning, but accessible to people new to the world of Digimon Adventure. The first full character look of the DigiDestined was also publically revealed as the image was first revealed at Jump Festa 2019 in Japan.
The first teaser of the film harkens back at the great adventures of the DigiDestined when they were just kids while also looking towards the future and growing up. The end of the teaser invites fans, who have followed this franchise for about two decades, to join them on this amazing new journey. At one point in the teaser, Agumon asks Tai, “What will you do tomorrow?”. It is a question that will be delved in deeper when the film arrives next year.
The un-titled Digimon Adventure 20th anniversary film is slated for an early Spring 2020 release in Japan. For updates and more information, go to www.digimon-adventure.net.
