Why is it going back to its 4:3 ratio? This ratio is a remaster done from the original film materials of the entire series. The 4:3 version will have much more image visible than the previous Blu-ray releases of DBZ episodes that were in a 16:9 ratio. In a statement from Funimation: “We wanted to release the series in 4:3 for the more hardcore subset of DBZ fans who want to experience the series with higher intergrity.” The 4:3 aspect is the original presentation of how the series was intended to be seen when it was broadcasted on TV in both the US and Japan.
This stunning Collector’s Edition is also jam-packed with a full-sized hardback artbook, a collectible box featuring Shenron in foil design, an exclusive Grandista Goku 30th Anniversary Collectible Figure from Banpresto (available only with this Collector’s Edition), and more.

Due to the minimum build order for sets from their printers, Funimation has set reservation goal of 3,000 units in order to offer this product at an affordable price. If the reservation number does not reach 3,000 orders by May 5, 2019 at 11:59pm PST, then the set will not be created. Additionally, the Collector’s Edition is limited to a total creation of 6,000 due to manufacturing limits. Once the max is hit, no more sets will be produced.
